Azzazzello, I was wondering when a renowned Ashtanite fanatic like
yourself would post back . . . you are one of the worst fanatical
fanatic haters with in Ashtan. A metaphor for hypocrisy.
You yourself were one of the main reasons for my leaving. Your constant
internal oppression of anything that YOU (along with the little group of
ruling 'elite' you were part of back then) didn't seem to want in the
city sickened me to the core. You speak of Ashtans freedom to stand up
and laugh in the face of anything it wants to. This is exactly how
Ashtan works internally, anything that doesn't fall with in strict
boundaries is 'laughed at', mocked, ridiculed . . . oppressed! If the
majority agree then the majority join in and the majorities attitudes
are dictated by the Ashtanite Authorities, as they majority wish to
impress them and to gain a foot hold in the ladder of power. The lines
laid down in Ashtan might be marginally different than the rest of the
world, but if you do not fall bitween them you are flushed out of the
system slowly and gradually.
Poverty is oppression . . . Ashtans freedom is not complete with out
oppression as if it was taken away, then "it would seize being Ashtan in
spirit." You can justify and theorise about this oppression as much as
you can, but you can not change the fact that poverty /is/ oppression.
If the slums are sick with poverty, then this oppression is "a DIRECT
RESULT of" Ashtans freedom, there for I can only surmise that Ashtans
freedom is a lie!
You were NOT the only one to respond to me, I found little support with
in your city ,this much is true, but a lot deemed fit to criticise me
and put me down because I wanted all Ashtanites to enjoy the same, basic
level of freedom . . . not just the ruling, Guilded class. I actually
got a margin of support from with in the council itself. But, as I think
Saruman has stated somewhere before, the ruling council of Ashtan was
and is apathetic to ANY suggestions at the best of times.
I proposed a three step rejuvenation scheme to clean up the slums. I
proposed the building of a community centre in the slums, which would
eventually house education for all ages. Starting with basics, reading,
righting and arithmetic for the young and moving onto more specific
craft related jobs for the old, which in turn would produce a skilled
and trained work force to help with the construction of the , then, new
subdivisions hopefully reducing the costs. With in the centre there
would be a drugs-rehabilitation project, to help those with crippling
substance addictions to get back on their feet. Another long term goal
was the complete re-construction of the slums, with the work force that
the centre would have provided you.
The majority of the council, couldn't be bothered . . . so sat around
making up half arssd excuses all day . . . which the brain-washed
populace of your City baleeved instantly and stood freely behind them
like drones.
I relay couldn't care less about the weak individuals trapped there now.
But most of Ashtan seem to be so proud of this enforced weakness in
their city, this tightly maintained cancer. But surly this just goes to
prove my point about the hypocrisy of the Ashtanite Dream?
