Actually: Eris, Aegis, Twilight and their respective Orders

To those listed in the subject,

I was a founding Senator in Cyrene. I was the last of the original
Senators, when I finally stepped down and left Cyrene to live a life of
seclusion in the forests I love. I speak now because it appears that an
explanation is required.

I helped create the Twelve Tables of Cyrene. Indeed, the 12 Tables were
my idea, though the concepts within were a combined effort of several
people (including Czanthria, 1st Imperiate), approved by the citizens
with a referendum. Because of this, I believe I -should- speak.

To understand why the stances regarding the Orders of War, Chaos and
Darkness were taken, you must understand Cyrene, its roots and what was
envisioned for its future. The Twleve Tables do in fact explain this in
some detail, and I will refer to it as I write.

Enoc, Aegis and the Order of War,
I quote: "...It had long been a hidden Utopia for those that were tried
of the endless slaughter from the wars between the other cities and
villages of Sapience..."

This is why Aegeans were "discriminated against". It is because Cyrene
was a haven for those who hated war, who wanted nothing but to get away
from it. Why would someone in the Order of War, a lover of War, want to
be a member of such a City, if not to undermine its beliefs and disturb
its citizens?

Eris, and the Order of Chaos,
Several, if not many of the founders of Cyrene were/are Elysian. I was
Elysian. Czanthria still is Elysian. We believed/believe, with all our
hearts, that what Pentharian and Lorielan say about You (Eris) and
Chaos, is true. There have been countless posts on this subject, so I
will not make a sermon now, nor attempt to instruct You on Your own
realm - suffice to say that our beliefs of Chaos led us to believe that
Chaos is in opposition to Cyrene's ideals.

Cyrenians loved quiet, peaceful, ordered lives. Our beliefs were that
Chaos could only disturb that.

Grellek, Twilight and the Order of Darkness,
I have read many of the texts of Darkness. I do not mean in recent
times, I mean in older times, before Cyrene was founded. I and the other
founders have known Darkness rather well, know many of its political and
social techniques. I do not presume to say that any of us know/knew more
than you, your Lord or His Order.

Darkness was opposed both as a matter of principle, and also because it
was viewed (from our experience) that Darkwalkers undermine the smooth,
peaceful existance we wanted. This is not to say you always do, just
that if you (by you, I mean - Darkwalkers in general) want to achieve
something, no method is too sly or devious. Darkness was opposed for
many reasons, not the least of which was simply because the techniques
of Darkness were seen as something which could potentially cause a lot
of problems in the city.

I hope my explanations help somewhat. They aren't complete, I know. But
they should help you all to understand why the stances in the past were
taken. Not because of "church beginnings", or even "Elysian beginnings"
- but because Cyrene was intended to be a haven for those who wanted to
get away from the strife of wars between other Cities. Anything which
could jeopardise that was opposed. Maybe it was the wrong way to go
about it, maybe it was the right. I'm not going to argue that now,
because I truly don't care about something so far in my past.

To Cyrene - a small part of me, deep down - still cares a bit about what
you choose to do with your future. The only two things I urge you to do
are: (1) Keep a high regard of honourable actions, and (2) Continue to
try and be a haven. a "Utopia". I'm not all the founding citizens, but
those two things were what I loved most about Cyrene.

To everyone - one problem with Cyrene is the strict adherance to laws,
that they have. Partly my own fault I guess. Loopholes exist, what isnt
written, isn't law. Cyrene would be wise to sort this out.
