first off, even the barbarians had a good reason to kill and cause harm. Whether, as you said, to protect their teritory, or expand it. In a few, small, cases, maybe a little sadism... but in our case, a good 50% of the population is made up of psychos, sadists, and serial killers.
While I can certainly understand the appeal of playerkilling. Not only is it the best possible test of your skill, but what a rush... The whole point of Achaea, is to have fun. For some of us, playerkilling is fun, but being forced to cower under grace out of fear of getting pk'd is not fun.
I think the best way to handle this, is for us, as players, to put together a working justice system, possibly with some fate worse than death for repeat offenders... That way, people may be slightly more hesitant to kill without good reason, and create a more realistic environment
