New Beginnings

Many aeons ago Creation held no Chaos and, because this was an imperfect
state, Chaos formed outside of Creation and pushed its way into the
world during a time called the Chaos Wars. Since then and by the grace
of Ayar who begat Sarapis, Chaos was made a part of Creation,
integrating itself as a natural force within the multiverse. Since that
time, Chaos has often been persecuted in dogmatic scriptures as anathema
to Creation, yet it is what made Creation whole. For many, many ages,
Chaos has been subject to these antiquated prejudices, certainly up to
these modern times when Chaos is the patron of Ashtan, City of the Free,
home to the free spirits and independent thinkers, those of whom Chaos
smiles upon.
But a great hope rises up within Me as Demeter, the Green Lady, takes
patronship of the Ashura of Ashtan. With this gesture, and in the midst
of troubling visions of an uncertain future, the time of prejudice
appears at an end and the time of unification is at hand. Recognizing
the strength and purpose of freedom, Demeter joins us in our fight
against oppression. Against the truly unnatural forces of Slith, the
fiend who took My son, and whom Aegis, My Beloved Husband, quests to
find, the Green Lady pledges to help the Ashura monks defeat such
threats as may come.
And for this, I plan to re-dedicate the Temple of Gaia in Linnaen Park
as Demeter's Sanctuary Gardens. Please join Me in welcoming the Green
Lady as an ally and friend.
Eris, Goddess of Chaos
Patron of Ashtan, City of the Free
Penned by my hand on the 10th of Scarlatan, in the year 317 AF.
