Tortured by Dreams of Honey

I had a dream.
A touch of the divine.
Not of lust,
But a taste of the eternal.
A blissful harmony which connected me to the world and beyond.

Where no hardship could break me,
For I knew where home was.
I knew what I was working towards.
I felt safe and warm,
But morning has come.

While I'm awake, I am haunted by visions,
Reminders of what I once had.
But I carry on as a good soldier,
Battling my internal war.
Walking in confusion and asking,

"Is sleep my friend?"

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Valnuary, in the year 291 AF.
