Darona Firedancer's Polska

[3/4 time, polska- or waltz-like beat, drums, fiddle and zither or dulcimer or similar]

Darona, dearest,
Hear the Shuun a-chortle
Bairn Muurn joining in
With tongue immortal
See old Zigfrey by the canal waters
Picking colours out from Nature's gifts!

See the copepods'
Cyclopic glitter
Gulls along the lakeshore
Shriek and flitter
Duchess, see the one-eyed lighthouse glaring
Sternly scrying our marina walk!

The sun illumining
The netted pier
The fishermen awash
In brine and beer
Konstantina in her red galoshes
Sagely pondering upon the depths!

Lance throws open
The horned doorway
Drum and zither
Begs, come in, stay
As Shadya's perfume beckons push in deeper
Duchess, let us place our order first!

Chips and sausages and soup and taters
Calls for shots and rum, accost the waiter
Another round on me I'll pay you later
And a little golden one for Lady D!
One of those that's brewed from gilded apples
Finish off the bottle in the chapel
Stagger out and challenge Blu to grapple
Safely to the ancient orchards flee!

Past the gates
To the conservatory
Hear the fiddle spilling
Notes of glory
Rona, hark, is that not Quinlyn V?
Who's scribbled this whole song in praise of thee!

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Aeguary, in the year 976 AF.
