We did not fear, we fought

Written by: Laytron's Heir Bumin Rousseau, Knight of the Coin

Addressed to: Faerum, Prophet of Laytron

On that day, they said the enemy had united and grown strong.
Some said we should retreat, others said we should join their ranks.
They tried to dissuade us with talk of defeat's shame,
And threatened us with the enemy's numbers.
We stood up and said, why are we running?
Why should we fear them just because they are more?
Why should we bow to another, as long as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west?
Why should we give our lives and take theirs in another's name?
We did not fear, we fought.
They came down the hills like rain, a hundred thousand strong.
We did not falter.
We died a thousand times, and rose again a thousand times, stronger each time.
They always outnumbered us, while we were just Cyrenians
We fought for what we believed in, and we would not give up.

-For the memorial of Champions Games-

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Phaestian, in the year 930 AF.
