Dynasty (Die Nasty)

What is this place that smells of poverty and piss?
I have akaen to realize something is amiss.
Long have I slept, forced now to rise,
To a world overrun with vermin, that I despise.
Eradicate the rats and clean up the streets,
Track them by their stench and pounding heartbeats.
A dynasty once great, has fallen to disgrace.
The state of this realm leaves with me a bitter taste.
Awaken the Old Ones, there is work to be done,
These sensitive matters best hidden from the sun.
Gather up the sons of the earth, the daughters of the sea,
Should there be any worthy of serving for eternity.
Unfoul the water and cleanse the earth,
Paving way for the Glorious Rebirth.
Cut out their hearts, their bodies are to be burned,
The lesson in this they may never learn:
Nothing is given, and even the right to live must be earned.

- Kresslack De'Verres, the Black Wolf

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Mayan, in the year 569 AF.
