Zero Hour, the moment childhood ends

I would like to dedicate this poem to Lady Ourania, Whose heavenly light
has inspired me greatly.
Zero Hour
'Time will pass and you will grow', is what they say,
'No more a child, you'll be a woman.'
Will I be ready on the day
I leave my childhood at the steps?
I'll have to learn, I'll have to try, be unafraid,
nurture my mind, strengthen my spirit.
My body's wakening to my fate.
I'll balance health with aim and drive.
I won't be swept away by raging tides,
and I will keep those precious three clear in my mind,
counting down until the
zero hour.
I am but one but I will try, with all my core,
to be my best, to be a lady.
I'll treasure all that I adore,
won't let my future fade my past.
Emotions burst but I'll stay calm, won't lose my pride,
don't want to harm another's feelings.
My inner turmoil I will hide.
I'll face the future with a smile.
I won't be swept away by raging tides.
and I will firmly keep my two feet on the ground,
counting down until the
zero hour.
The world outside is cold and harsh, or so I've heard,
it overwhelms, it can be deadening.
There can be lies in every word.
A storm is brewing in the dark.
I will be patient or I'll try, I'll find my way,
and take the time to find my purpose.
My heritage I won't betray,
integrity's the greatest charm.
I won't be swept away by raging tides,
and I will take my journey one step at a time
once I have reached the
zero hour.
Penned by my hand on the 13th of Chronos, in the year 507 AF.
