Autumn

Autumn
------

The summer heat has been and gone,
departed in a trail of browns
and yellows, reds that grace this dawn.
So fragile, the tree's autumn crown.

Leaves rustle in a gentle breeze,
and many birds sing tunes of fall.
Tomorrow it may start to freeze,
and they'll fly off to southern calls.

Please let this autumn last a while,
it's milder weather tenderly
beguile our senses, make us smile,
'fore winter walks in, bitterly.

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Glacian, in the year 451 AF.
