Return to the Realms of Wonder

A weary traveler I return to my homeland
To my family, mother dear, sisters and brothers - and yet
One can never truly come home again for it is never where one was
Never the place remembered - so many faces - gone -
Sweet friends and would be lovers - eyes meet passions flame
And enemies and those who beyond time will always look at me with
disdain
Yet I return, now a woman where once a newbie girl
Innocent blues eyes, now have seen so much - and I find my clothes
So beautiful have become dust. I will hold the memories of those I love
The city buildings, streets so unchanged
While the foots and feet that tread them belong to many strangers
I dreamed to be a knight and so I shall be
I dreamed to see Mhaldor humbled Shallam stand proud in triumph
I pray to the gods and there is a stir in the ancient temple
In the misty haze of incense and smoke mighy faces, images of divine
remember
For they are immortal as I would be and some shall rise above the plains
I will find love once again - and my enemies shall see me establish
myself
In service to that which is Good - for they speak of Good
But their hearts do not burn as mine with the desire to find it
Some hearts burn for power or fame or wealth
I humble myself before the Gods, a servant of the church, a Paladin
And know that I shall find my destiny, my purpose
My loves and true friendship - love of family and class and clan
In the Realms of Wonder

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Sarapin, in the year 439 AF.
