"Soaring"

I could fly with my heart
Like birds fly with their wings
Wishing never to part
Overcoming all things
Some will say it won't work
Some will spit in my face
Say "Your just going to hurt"
But they can't see the place
Where our love goes upbounding
In our public affair
And I soar right beside you
With the wind in our hair
And they all lift their gazes
To look up to the sky
Shouting blessings and praises
Just for us, you and I
And I feel your sweet lips
As they dance with my own
Such a wonderful trip
I never have known
Then we're finally alone
With the world gone to bed
And you sigh and relax
As you rest your sweet head
On my warm, loving shoulder
Our hands entertwined
There's no love that's bolder
Than this, yours and mine.
And you drift off to sleep
Wrapped in my arms tight
With contentment so deep
Things, at last, are alright
Then we wake up together
To begin daily chores
And I thank Gods above
You are mine, I am yours
I like you and love you
These feelings are rare
I haven't met you yet
But I know your out there somewhere.

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Miraman, in the year 429 AF.
