Poetry News Post #2783

The journey continued.

Written by: Metrist Arinyes, Traveling Bard

Logging today, the third part.
Of Arinyes, the Traveling Bard.
From her journal, two years older.
None the wiser, only bolder.

Things that happened are plenty.
In moving from eighteen to twenty.
Joined a House Ty Beirdd, joined the city Cyrene.
Did a lot of reading and some exploring in between.

Moved through madness, getting madder still.
A filling portfolio, swashing buckles with my quill.
Inspiration aplenty, Achaea's stories.
Hope it'll last me into my forties.

Joining a group, honestly.
Isn't always done so easily.
One group may forbid you joining another.
Some shops won't sell no more. Oh, bother!

You'll face rules you may not find fair.
Such is life, though, the choice is yours.
Finding a place without compromise is rare.
Draw your lines and set a course.

That all being said and done.
Let's move to things more fun.
Life's a journey, the world a stage.
I'm the star, my words a cage.

Distilling essence, capturing the soul.
Rhyming poetices -- well, that's my goal.
Explored the lands from Shallam to Ashtan.
Cyrenian Vashnars to the coasts around Hashan.

Journeyed with two apostates and a knight.
Witnessing these Mhaldorians fight.
From distant Arcadia, High city of Lore.
To Moghedu, hated enemy of Mahldor.

Their skills, impressive, in battle's din.
The speed by which they slew, made my head spin.
Read the seven truths of evil, a later day.
They make sense, in their own sort of way.

For those who frown and ponder.
This Cyrenian bard does wander.
I'll compose as I see it, no bars hold.
But pass no judgment as things unfold.

Right now, it's views I seek and see more sights.
Anyone reading this; I'm in the market for guides!
Leave a message, send me a card.
To Arinyes, a Traveling Bard.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Valnuary, in the year 404 AF.
