Friendship

Addressed to: Everyone
To Dream, I thought, one had to Sleep
For then it was that wondrous things emerged
How wrong I was, and how glad I am
To find out that glorious things come forth
From those I hold most dear
I've always known that family was love
For love entwined me almost instantly
When in mum's arms, she wrapped me tight
and I knew my first taste of true delight
My family has lead me through the trials of life
I learned, slow but sure, that House was love
For in them I've found a place called Home
For it is where my heart resides, and I
I know that if I need, they shall fulfill my life
And if they need, there I shall be, a pillar
Friendship, that I was not sure of, really
I knew it intimately, or so I thought, so wrongly
For outgoing and mischevious I am, unabashed
But I thought it was for laughter and secrets only
Perhaps the occassional consolation, but love?
There are so many types of love, a blessing
They entertwine and overlap, a circle formed
None should dare to be discounted, all special
But now I know which is perhaps the best of all
Made of care, respect, and loyalty freely given
Friendship, for it is not bound by Blood or House.
Penned by my hand on the 13th of Miraman, in the year 402 AF.
