The Cycle of Seasons

Every year brings change and repetition. A cycle of sameness and
difference that repeats according to the age-old march of the distant
satellites through the sky...
Sarapin
Pale snowflakes soften
The crisp black veil that covers
The Sarapin moon.
Daedalen
Winter's grip loosens
Under Daedalen's bright gaze
Now the sun prevails
Aeguary
Melting snows nurture
The new green Aeguary
Leaves that stretch and wake
Miraman
Grey clouds ripe with rain
Wash the Miraman sky clean
Balance is restored
Scarlattan
Sunny Scarlattan
Takes a bow and saunters
Out like a lion
Ero
Sultry Ero nights
Bathe the entwined lovers' skin
In humid pleasure
Valnuary
Sweltering summer
Slumbering Valnuary
Dreams of a cool breeze
Lupar
In long green shadows
Hide the wily hunters from
Lupar's setting sun
Phaestian
Leaves of yellow, red,
Like the flames that lick the forge
Hues of Phaestian
Chronos
Daylight wanes and night
Brings the chilly reminder:
Chronos counts the days
Glacian
Long fingers revealed
The cold trees shiver, naked.
Glacian winds howl.
Mayan
Mother Mayan coos
Her weary children slumber
Marking the Year's end
Penned by my hand on the 12th of Ero, in the year 399 AF.
