Serpent's Lullaby

Serpent's Lullaby

As you pull the sheets back,
As you blow the world black,
Tell me, neighbour, this truth:
Who is in the dark with you?

Who watched you undress?
Who knows your secrets best?
Who leaves no trace, no clue?
The Serpents of House Naga do.

Who falls for my cunning smile,
Accepts my words of subtle guile?
Who believes what they want to?
You know this, neighbour: you do.

Check each shadow, lest you miss
Me waiting with a Voyria kiss...
Who now reads this page with you?
We do.
We do.
