Words

Eve is a palindrome
Be you gamekeeper or poacher
She always looks the very same
However you approach 'er.

Bow and bough are homophones
Though different, sound the same
But when you look at cow and cough
It's quite a different game.

Onomatopoeic words
Like buzz and crash and screech
Often form the harshest parts
Of our misbegotten speech.

Anagrams are mixed up letters
And so: "Ribcase in work"
Is quite a handy anagram
Of: "Corwin is a Berk!

Alliteration always 'as
An amiable attitude
Perfect pleasing passages
In imaginations intrude.

Synonyms are different words
That have quite similar meanings
And just which one you choose to use
Depends upon your leanings.

What is the point of all these things?
They do not bother me!
But not understanding what words mean
Can be quite unpleasant, you see.

The Buffalo and the Potato
Both of them have their chips
But you wouldn't want eat the one
With sauces or with dips.

So pay attention to your words
And punctuation too.
So there's no misunderstanding
Where you end up eating poo.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Miraman, in the year 392 AF.
