Mysterious Island

Mysterious island
Set upon a sea of amethyst
Veiled in shyness, as a maiden,
By banks of grey and rolling mist.

Your rocky shore
Battered by the waves of time
Forbidding as a harridan's glare
Salt crystals glazed like sea storm's rime.

Dense forest, darkest green
Where life bustles, but barely heard
Where the trees speak in breeze drawn sighs
Each gust of wind a drawling verdant word.

At your centre, a mighty mountain
Thrusting to pierce the dome of the sky
Earth conjoins with air, amidst the water,
Above the fire, there does the island's spirit lie.

Mysterious island
Take me to your soul and let me stay
Protected in your shield of mist and wave and wood
Content to live a single, perfect day.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Miraman, in the year 392 AF.
