A Song for Departing

Do not take me from this realm,
my heart cries out in vain.
But let my spirit linger here,
my thin facade remain
For all to see and offer cheer.
Departures overwhelm. The pain
of facing drab surrounds
Until I reappear to claim
these vibrant grounds,
that crystal sky,
To sing out with no fear!
To glance around, and know that I
was meant to wander here.

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Glacian, in the year 380 AF.
