Second Wife

In realms and dreams
Through forest dense
Thick
Evolving.

Through mist and marble
Sugar and Decadence.
We've come.
We've come.

You were first.
His first love.
His first beloved.
And I smiled.

You were third.
His third champion
His last love
His Omega.
And I smiled.

And She is second.
In the middle again
As wife who is plain
In the middle again
As Second Wife.

First wife got pearls
So many gifts.
First wife bore husband
A child.

Third wife is beautiful
Such wonderful skin.
A deep ocean smile,
She never complains.

Second wife is silent.
Her hair has gone grey.
She speaks only to the servants
Of the palace.

People forget her
She is not velvet or silk.
She is not pearls or diamonds.

She is barren
Her smile is empty
Her skin is not fair.

First wife has servants
Second wife has silence
Third wife has beauty.

Or is that husband's choice?

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Scarlatan, in the year 359 AF.
