Love and Loss

Written by: Scarlattan poet, Dumas s'Lessen, Artisan

Tattered and torn
This feeling inside
Place it away
Hide from the pain

Things are not passed
But only paused
Still the voices
Ring my head

My heart must hold
My love remain true
Knowing this could be the end
Hoping it's not

I keep from touching
Skin so soft
The charge from that touch
Unchaining my defences

Time grows short
You love appears lost
I must not show it
I must keep calm

There can be no one for me
Two losses too much
Steal my heart away
Lock it up tight

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Scarlatan, in the year 350 AF.
