Towards the Light

Years, months, days
I've hidden from those bright rays
Lingering in shadows around me
Thinking I could be free

The blackened tendrils ensnare my limbs
Furies at my ear singing their hymns
I continued my search through tribulation
Searching for that lost salvation

I think I've found it at last
The key to freedom from my past
Beneath the light cerulean sky
I spread my wings and try to fly

When darkness falls and night surrounds me
I search for where you just might be
Walking towards the blinding light
Where my dreams take endless flight

It sooths me now, my aching heart
I linger no more, I've played my part
Stand alone by my own might
I'm staring ahead towards the light.

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Sarapin, in the year 349 AF.
