Poetry News Post #1572

Connected

I've heard it said that some souls are

connected

one to the other by a fine red thread.

Through countless
lives,
eons,
and distance,
the thread remains.

It may twist and tangle,
knot and fray,
but it can never be broken.

Such souls are kept from rest,
one anchoring the other,
alternating,
until they choose to enter into rest together

connected

and entwined.

The only decision we have,
is to rest, or to resist.
Only our fear to taint our decision.

Rest, or resist...

nothing more.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Miraman, in the year 347 AF.
