A Token

Sitting in a room owned by darkness
I often look outside my window at the world below
Nothing really said, nothing really written
Only this simple token of appreciation

The Moonlight beams proudly upon the road
Aiding in guidance to all those unaware
Spiting the shadows, it delivers them
To freedom from the malevolent unknown

Silence warily creeps out from nowhere
Drowning out a handful of vibrant sound
Without warning, it seals it's captive inside
Until the rosey-fingered dawn returns

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Glacian, in the year 328 AF.
