Unconditional Love

Despite the ages of wandering,
despite the eras of pain,
one thing, and one thing only keeps my returning almost constant,
as steady and as unshaking
as the moon's pull against the tides.
To look back and to remember
creates a smile despite all else,
forsaking all other trials and tribulations,
pushing aside all the doubts and insecurities,
the love and joy of a mother above almost all else.
Aier, my first and my eldest,
though, unsure how to guide her, myself still in youth.
My quiet, graceful wanderer,
who lives on forever in my heart.
Litheria, the second and the mischevious,
filled with laughs and smiles and hugs,
showing up at the perfect moments,
to fill her mother's dark word with bright smiles.
Lovissalyn, the naughty, the mouthy,
another pride and joy in her mother's eye,
honest to the point of blatant,
supporting to the point of a pillar of strength.
Asphodel, proud to be "Chammi's girl",
was always there with a snuggle and a squeeze,
and Sora, the playful, the constant child,
romping around her mother's grove,
covering herself in flowers and laughs.
And Dannath, the first son,
kind and caring, loving no matter what
his crazy mother seemed to come up with next.
Rayin, mother's favorite kitten,
pawing always for attention,
and reminders of love and family.
Brien, responsible and independent,
strong enough to make his own choices,
but wise enough to heed his old mother's words.
Sidney, the lily, the beautiful,
dedicated to guild and family,
loving and encouraging to all.
Mulisha, the "black sheep", the monk,
risking his young life, sticking out his neck,
for a mother he barely even knew yet.
Zahra, wise beyond her years,
stolen away while at an interview like most of the others,
but already more mature and strong that thought before.
Faedwyn, the youngest girl,
cheerful, sparkling, loving and kind.
And Nida, the recent,
a welcome into arms of a family,
large and complicated,
but loving and beautiful,
a place to always call home.
For no matter how many times I'm broken,
and no matter how many times I cry,
I've the the love and devotion of my beautiful children,
and the knowledge that they're always at my side.
~**Dedicated of course to my beautiful children, who give their mother
such love that she doesn't deserve**~
Penned by my hand on the 10th of Miraman, in the year 313 AF.
