Sounding the Charge

Citizens of Sapience,

I bring you this declaration as a representative of the Order of Aster Malik and that unrivaled duchy of the same name, last bastion of lost but never forgotten Seleucar, the greatest empire that our world has yet known. Some short months ago, it was bequeathed to me as my solemn duty to travel to this northern continent, from where and whence I now pen these words.

In my role I met with the apparent foreigners living among you, the "Karl" of a tribe, the Uchenny, named Abyzer. Upon the bridge of most ancient Delos we discussed Knighthood and its virtues, and with the aid of the Guild of Knights demonstrated a tradition of Chivalry: the joust.

I say to you, Sapience, not only was the Karl intrigued, nay, impressed by the spectacle thus offered of clashing charges and several shattered lances, he added as well that to those of this continent who favour the assemblage of his people's bracelets there will be one such charm added for those who participate in the upcoming joust!

Hosted by the Guild of Knights in demonstration of tradition and more, it is to take place in the Calliston calendar, beginning upon the 25th of the month now named Aeguary, 927 years after the Fall of storied Seleucar. Sir Aodfionn will be accepting registrations until the 12th of that same month (Aeguary, for those not versed in the traditional Church calendar). I ask to one and all seeking participation that he be messaged without delay should you wish to take part and earn a charm. You need not be a knight to do so, no matter your skill, and a dozen spots yet remain at present!

Should you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask! I am told that the Guild organisers will clarify any matters at hand!

And at the last, while I yet endure in these northern lands I will be encouraged at the hope of viewing new faces at what undoubtedly promises to be an event both lively and rewarding.

In service,
Sir Kalogeris, Knight-Lieutenant

Summary: On a journey from the Meropian continent and in converse with arrivals from Karth, a Knight of the Order of Aster Malik opened the challenge of the joust for glory and reward to Sapience's adventurers.

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Sarapin, in the year 927 AF.
