A bug with Whips of Taming was recently corrected. Whips of Taming are
artefacts sold for one purpose: to deliver the pacifism affliction.
However, for effective delivery of this affliction, they have a speed of
225. This is much higher than the speed of the level 3 artefact whip,
which has a speed of 180, and the Whip of Taming is priced 1000 credits
cheaper to boot. That meant people were buying them to use for sped-up
garroting, which is NOT the purpose of the Whip of Taming. I'm sure it
was nice while it lasted, but no more, I'm afraid. Whips of Taming may
no longer be used for garroting at all.

With our apologies to those who believed this to be a feature and not a
bug, we will give a full 100% credit refund to those who purchased Whips
of Taming before this fix for the purpose of garroting. Please email
