Sarapin, Year 500 A.F.

At the turn of the New Year, fireworks lit up the sky like fiery
flowers, and a hundred Year 500 giftbags were scattered across the realm
for the traditional Treasure Hunt, containing gold, commodities, herbs,
and for the luckiest treasure hunters, artefacts major and minor. All
those present received ten bound credits and 50 gift lessons.
Shortly thereafter, the Year 500 Lottery opened, with credit prizes for
first through fifth. (See LOTTERY INFO 25 for details.) You can purchase
lottery tickets at the ticket box at North of New Thera or at the
lottery office in Delos. You can buy tickets as gifts for others; please
do NOT purchase them for those who will be unable to claim their prizes
if they win, such as any immortals, the Guides, or dormant/shrubbed
adventurers.
Many games with prizes were run throughout the month of Sarapin,
including the opening of a new team-based combat game in the Matsuhama
Arena called Royal Guard. The objective of this game is to defend a
single player on your team who is crowned the Regent, and to slay the
Regent of the opposing team to win. See HELP ROYALGUARD for details!
Teams from Hashan and Cyrene competed in the first two rounds ever of
this game, with Hashan besting Cyrene twice.
In less than 13 Achaean days from now shall be the first of the
Championship Games to determine the next wielder of the Staff of Nicator
- the Year 500 Tumble Races. The Tumble Races are scheduled for 11pm
GMT, which is 3pm PST and 6pm EST. There will be credit prizes to the
1st through 10th place winners in the Tumble Races, as well as points
towards the final Championship. If you plan to participate, please read
HELP TUMBLERACE prior to the scheduled time.
Furthermore, a new-emote contest has begun in the Golden Dais section of
Achaea's forums! The contest will run through Year 500, and the winner of
the contest will be awarded a Mayan crown. Visit:
