The Ivory Hand

Greetings all,

Please allow me the honor of introducing myself. My name is Tassad of the House of Baraslan. I have come to this city after being rescued from the claws of the desert sun by a kind stranger. I had been given the honor of performing the Kor'h Tae for my familiy - which translates roughly to "Water walk" in common. It is a action which brings honor to those who have chosen to participate as well as survival to my house.
In the deserts of Mhojave there is little water to be found and in times of drought the water supplies in Moghedu run dangerously low. At this time one of the members of each family is chosen to go to the desert and find water. If they return with water - they aid thier house's survival - if they enter the Final Resting, then they also aid thier house by reducing the rationing. Either way it was a great honor for me to be chosen to represent my house. Unfortunately I was unable to find water and had succumbed to the heat of the Desert. All went black and I was convinced that the day of the Final Resting was at hand for me. But through the kindness of a stranger, who found me and nursed me back to health simply out of the goodness of his heart, I did *not* enter the Final Resting that day. Instead was able to return to my house with a great supply of water - enough to secure them through the drought.
The kind human who saved me introduced me to the Sentaari, a group of disciplined holy men to whom he once belonged. He communicated that the Sentaari were once benevolent humanitarians who found honor in service to others and used thier considerable skills with discretion and wisdom. Sadly, however, he informed me that as of late, the Order had become scarse and thier ideals had been blurred with time. I could see the remnants of the original vision of the Sentaari in the human who had saved my life and as a vow and repayment to him, I entered the ranks of the Sentaari with the goal of restoring the vision and mission of the Order of the Sentaari Monks.
In that light then, I have devoted myself and the honor of my Order to providing kindness to others, for it is my belief that honor comes not though battle (though sadly, it is sometimes necessary), but through service. It takes much greater discipline and strength to humble yourself before others in service than to boast and fight another into submission.
The Sentaari, like many seek Enlightenment and it is my belief that the truest path to enlightenment comes through service. So should anyone need aid, money, advice, protection, whatever service I might offer - I will be HONOR-bound and pleased to provide it to you. However, I will not have my aid abused, for this would bring dishonor upon myself and my order. If it is found that such aid *is* being abused - it will be removed from that individual until such time that proper repentance has taken place.
I reap great joy in aiding others and if you also have a servant's heart within you - then I pray that you deny it no longer. Come and join me for I am also a part of a sub-group of the Sentaari known as the "Ivory Hand". This group will be dedicated to service as I have mentioned before but will not be limited to members of the Sentaari Order. Any whom have the heart of a servant and wish to focus that energy are welcome to be a part of this fellowship.

May the shade of fortune and saftey rest upon you and may your waterskins never go dry,
Tassad Baraslan, member of the Ivory Hand and the Sentaari Order

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Aeguary, in the year 193 AF.
