Laergon's Oath

Written by: Gaia, the Earthmother
Date: Thursday, May 14th, 1998
Addressed to: Eris, Goddess of Chaos

Greetings Eris

My child may well have made a oath to you and my esteemed brother Phaestus, but only an idiot would not raise an arm in self defence, and i would not expect any creature of mine to do likewise, in defence of that most precious, life itself.

In nature, life is fought fiercely, and to the end, I would expect my child to only do what would be natural and that is defend himself.

I do not free him from your oath, nor mine of no harm to the innocent, but i will not allow him to offer no defence for his life. Your unseemly way of trying to twist his word from an oath made to you in faith of his believes, i find disturbing.

My children will always fight for what is theirs, Life. Just as it is so in nature, so its is with mankind.

Gaia, Goddess of Nature.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Valnuary, in the year 191 AF.
