oaths

Written by: Brother Taringail, Aide to Training
Date: Monday, July 17th, 2000
Addressed to: Adorable Armelia, The Arbitrator

Oh Armelia,
Have you not payed attention at all?
Wassalissa took the oaths the Priests required, and she stuck to those oaths. You say an oath is a sacred bond, and that an oath should be kept until you die. Open your eyes. She did die. She died to the same people who took her oath, and she died because she tried to follow her oath. There was no reason for them to do that, and there was no provocation. She was still on the side of the Light after she left the Priests, and she stayed there until she had to turn to the much more forgiving citizens of Ashtan for sanctuary against those who had betrayed her. She broke no oaths, they broke them for her.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Miraman, in the year 253 AF.
