Greetings, Sapience. I would just like to thank you for your kind words
and good wishes to me in the wake of the announcement by the
Logos of my impending transformation. The tells and messages
that I have received have boggled my mind, warmed my heart and
moved me profoundly. I had no idea that I was so well thought of. *g*
Seriously.
My work over the years has had the unfortunate effect of my not
being able to get out into the world to the extent most would
deem healthy. There are many of you that I do not know, who
nonetheless extended their good wishes and congratulations to
me. Thank you so very much.
To my friends and acquaintances I also say thank you, from the
bottom of my heart, for your kindness, love and support over the
years. I hope I have been as gracious to you.
To those of you who think yourselves my enemies, I will tell you
a secret. . .it has all been in your heads. It has all been in your
hands. I have had no enemies. Only duties and responsibilities
to city, guild, family and the gods. I have never even killed in anger.
Not because I could not, but because I chose not. And even you
who have considered me enemy can never truthfully say that I
have treated you with anything but honour.
And even you I thank for having taught me about the variety
inherent in the nature of sentient beings.
I was, and still am a bit, stunned by the call of the divine Ones
to join them in the Garden. Frankly, I am still not sure exactly
why it is that I deserve this. I feel that I am leaving much
undone in the mortal realm. However, one does not sanely
ignore a call from the Garden. Many of you, I know, have thought
me ambitious, given my history, or what you know of it. Let it
suffice to say that you are incorrect in that assessment. There
have always been, and always will be, more reasons for events
in the world than can possibly be known by all. Ambitious? No. . .
I have merely been a woman bound by duty and responsibility
to do the best that she could for those who chose to rely upon
her. . . and even some who did not so choose. And that is the
simplest and most direct truth of the matter.
I wish, if I may, to commend to you my beloved husband, Keyth
Danial. We are soon to be separated by a gulf wider than the
sea of stars in the heavens. He has been my helpmeet and
confidant and is a profoundly honourable man. He deserved one
better than I. I pray you treat him with the honour he deserves.
He shall return it tenfold. Keyth, I adore you. Be well and at peace
my love. It was sweeter than you can ever know.
Sapience, thank you. . .for experience and knowledge, for
kindness and love, for bitter and sweet. . .for. . .being. Thank you.
I pray that you may find it in your hearts to remember me with
kindness. I trust I have dealt with you with grace and honour, all.
May the gods hold you ever in Their divine embrace.
