Hi! So, im gonna be leaving the lands for a while, because things got real shady With Lady Gaia and the rulings on rogues that seem to change every day. Here to say goodbye and address this -

Recently Vothaec made the following post

By decree of the Earthmother and her High Coven, members of forestal classes are hereby barred from formal alliances with any city states, and membership in orders or clans that are banned for Eleusian villagers. Forestals currently in violation of this decree have 7 months to achieve compliance.a --


This post in particular is the bit that is most misleading. I was told its not, and that the post was "clear", but felt iffy. Whatever.


In this post Vothaec never mentioned that rogue forestals cannot be Merchants or CIJ, only that they cannot be allied to a city or belong to banned clans or orders.Two Eleusian scrolls also have inormation that supports what im saying -- CHELP BANNED explicitly states that Eleusians may not belong to the CIJ or Merchants but places no such limitation on rogues, which seems worth updating if that is the intended interpretation. CHELP SWINGINGDOOR does not clarify it either.

Based on that understanding, after considerable research, I chose to be a rogue Sylvan and a Merchant with no city allies and no membership in any banned orders or clans, believing this interpretation aligned with the written rules as they currently stand. Since then I have been told I will (maybe? they wouldnt confirm it) lose my grove if I do not leave my House, and that my methods were considered dubious with no reprieve available. When I asked for clarity I was first threatened with death then threatened with being enemied and ultimately turned to fertilizer by Gaia. If you are looking for clear answers as to the reasoning or the rules in effect you likely will not find them. This of course is entirely disheartening, and actually wild to think you could lose 500+ credits worth of value, for something that simply is not outlined.

I am making this post because it feels inconsistent when one thing is said, another is written, and something entirely different is enforced. The frustration is that the rules appear fluid, changing without clear communication, leaving people to operate within boundaries only fully understood after they have been crossed, and then decided upon. I have never acted against Nature in all my years nor raised hand against the forests I have long respected. I truly enjoy being a Sylvan so I will remain in my class, lose my grove, and be enemied to the wilds I never wronged.

To those of you I adore, it has been a lovely time walking with you, brief though it was. I will be taking a long rest because I do not at all vibe with the way this was explained or resolved and it is not worth the time, effort, or cost if you cannot actually enjoy the experience in the end.
