Your Opinion

An interesting post. I find your opinions rather amusing. However, they all tended to be rather generalized, as if all members of a guild were, or strived to be identical. In my opinion all of the guilds are made up of individuals, some with shared ideals and goals, others with their own specific ones.

I do find that some of your opinions contradict my observations of the different groups. The Occultists, of whom I have known several members have not been ones to 'lurk'. My encounters with them have tended to be outside Ashtan, where I have met them in our mutual wanderings. Travellers do not generally lurk. Maybe you have mixed with different members of this group. Also I am unconvinced that you know them well if you emphasize their use of 'control'. Again from my experiences they have been more individually orientated than any other group in the land. From those that I have been close to I have been made aware of their freedom within the guild to persue their own goals and research with minimal interference from the guild as a whole. Certainly this was the case in Servelan's era. Perhaps things have changed now. Even so, being (and perhaps not exclusively) followers of Chaos, they may resent your choice of terms. If they work well together I would describe it as an appreciation of mutual benefit. Even so

The Sentaari... Well if recent posts speak the truth I would reject your opinion that they are 'peaceful people who do not fight'. From the sound of it the Mhun would agree with me.

One thing I do personally object to is your use of imperatives disguised as advice. You order the priests to refrain from building shrines in Ashtan and you order the Occultists to stop fighting the Church on grounds of belief. Who are you to make such commands? On a historical note, the Occultists are scholars who have been hindered by the beliefs of the Church. Church members have in the past burned many volumes of lore that were in the hands of the Occultists because of opposing beliefs. Both the Occultists and the Church have long memories. I wouldn't put any money on your orders to them being followed.

To all readers, apologies for the length of this article. If my observations are out of date I would welcome anyone who seeks to update me.
