We are now accepting applications for new Celani - with a twist. If your
application is NOT accepted, you may be chosen instead as a mortal
builder, if you note on your application that you would like to be
considered for that position as well.

People who apply and are not selected for Celani sometimes ask me what
they can do to improve their chances for the next time. My response:
apply for the mortal builder program. We have had many Celani and Gods
who began as mortal builders, and while it's not guaranteed, doing well
as a mortal builder will certainly improve your chances.

So this time, while we're taking Celani applications, I'm asking you to
note on your app whether, if you are NOT chosen for Celani this time,
you would like to be considered for the mortal builder program. We have
a great deal of new building we're launching at this time, and we're
looking to seriously expand the team of builders.

As for the Celani applications themselves: be sure to read HELP CELANI
and HELP PROMOTIONS first. You must be at least 18 years of age in real
life. You must have played Achaea for an absolute minimum of 500 hours.
We prefer mature candidates with more experience than 500 hours, but we
will consider exceptional applications at the baseline.

To apply, send a plain-text, non-formatted, non-HTML email to
maya@achaea.com with every single thing on the list below, in the same
order, exemplifying for us your excellent attention to detail:

- your real name.
- your real age.
- if you are primarily a student, then your school and your course of
study.
- otherwise: your real occupation and your employer's name.
- your character(s) in Achaea and what has been accomplished, especially
the leadership positions held.
- why you think we should make you a Celani (keeping in mind that
Celanihood is a predecessor to Godhood).
- why you want to do this, knowing that you will have to completely cut
off ties with other (mortal) players.
- at least three flawless room descriptions of 80+ words each.
Refer to the section on room descriptions in HELP MORTAL BUILDERS for
guidelines on what is and is not acceptable in room descriptions. Be
sure to do this; I've received many an application that completely
ignored the given guidelines.
- any special experience outside of Achaea that you think might help you
in Celanihood, such as a customer service background or writing
experience.

Strong writing skills are a must, as is the ability to work within an
often demanding and perfectionistic team environment. Other traits that
will help you: consistency, good character, ability to improvise well,
storytelling skills, maturity, attention to detail, and a love of
Achaea.

We always have more applicants than openings. Many apply that are very
well qualified. We never have enough openings to take them all, however
much we might want to. If your application passes the first stage, we
will contact you for an interview.

Celani applications will be accepted until the end of Saturday, April 8.
Mortal builder-only applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
