8.1.11 THE PALADIN CLASS

Much like their Bloodsworn Priests, the way of the Paladin is an ancient one. Born in the Era of Founding by Imithia's Rite of Ending at the funeral of Pasiphae, they stood as guardians of Good upon Achaea from the very founding of the now-fallen Church. Warrior, Warden, and Protector, under the name of "Templar" the Paladins carried the torch of Light and Fire for centuries across the face of Achaea and beyond in a vigil both unending and unceasing.

Though the Church and the city of Shallam have long-since sunk beneath the waves of the Eusian, the might of the Paladins persists in service to the Divines Aurora and Deucalion. In the furnace of battle they are forged and tested, iron will joined as one to steel-armoured muscle in order that no foe might best them and defile their sacred charge. Their mind and body proof against the Profane, neither Chaos nor Evil nor Darkness dares blight the passage of a true Paladin, their coming presaged by the clarion call of the golden eagle that is their herald.

They are the world's bulwark against the Horror. They are the defenders of Creation, and its last hope against the Beyond.

The skills of a Paladin are Valour, Excision, and Weaponmastery. A fledgling Paladin gains Weaponmastery and Excision, while Valour is gained upon embracing class.

** Be warned that if a Paladin turns against the city of Targossas and the Bloodsworn Divine, they can be excommunicated and lose the ability to use Excision. Thus, this class requires roleplaying and may not be for everyone.
