13.4.4 Wield, Sheathing, Drawing, and Wearing

For one-handed swords, you still have the old-fashioned scabbards. While for knives, dirks, and daggers, you now have sheaths. For one-handed axes, and maces you have beltloops and for those who really prefer brute force, for the two-handed weapons, there is the sturdy baldric. For those of you with a thing for whips and blackjacks, there are belthooks to hang them from.

All of these weapon holders must be worn in order to draw or sheathe a weapon.

The penultimate command for weapon and shield control: WIELD [item1|NONE] [item2|NONE]

However, the alternatives for old school folks are listed below.

Putting a sword into a scabbard:

   SHEATHE
   SHEATHE [LEFT/RIGHT]
   SHEATHE <weapon>
   SHEATHE <holder>

Getting a sword out of a scabbard:

   DRAW
   DRAW [SALUTE/STRONG] [LEFT/RIGHT]
   DRAW <weapon> [SALUTE/STRONG] [LEFT/RIGHT]
   DRAW <holder> [SALUTE/STRONG] [LEFT/RIGHT]

Lashing a shield to a backstrap

   LASH <shield> TO <backstrap>
   UNLASH LEFT|RIGHT
   UNLASH <shield> [LEFT|RIGHT]
   UNLASH <holder> [LEFT|RIGHT]

To equip (wield, ready, or hold) something in your hand(s), WIELD it.

   WIELD [LEFT|RIGHT] <item>

For example, WIELD SWORD, or WIELD RIGHT RAPIER.

Additional commands related to wield:

WIELDED - shows what you are wielding.
   UNWIELD <item|LEFT|RIGHT> - unwield something.
SWAP HANDS - Swap wielded items to other hand.

To equip (aka wear) something on your body, arms, etc, WEAR it.
