12.9.6 The Isle and Village of Harae

A small island in the Western Ocean just off the Northern Vashnars, the mountainous Isle of Harae harbours a small volcano, and at the base of it, the ashen remains of a now ruined village. Once home to tribe of people known as the Haraekanewa, the village of Harae used to worship the volcano as a God, offering yearly sacrifices to appease the burning peak. Other inhabitants of the isle once included vicious wasps, and mindless, savage mud-men called the poharaehe.

In the year 973 AF, the plotting of the mage Gaderian led to the volcano's eruption and the subsequent awakening of a paramount fire elemental which ultimately caused Harae and its inhabitants to be buried in magma, despite the warnings of adventurers.
