A poem dedicated to Urissa

What I'm After

I know, it seems, I have fallen to a classic trap.
The world goes cold, the stories are told, the gods close the hatch.
I fall into a world of pureness, happily happily ever after.
Is it odd I do not like this? I dont want a happily ever after.

I know on the outside it may seem, like a picture perfect, happily ever after.
But that's not what I am after.
I want to experience pain and gain,
Love and loss, sun and rain,
Catch and toss, my heart which beats, continues to beat, for no reason anymore.

Something real,
Something true,
Where I give my heart to you,
I want to fall in love.

The tides they rise, staring into your eyes,
I ask myself, is this what I am after?
Am I willing to risk my happily ever after,
My world of pure excitement,
So I may find something real?

Maybe I am a fool,
But yes.
I risk my happily ever after,
For you.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Phaestian, in the year 839 AF.
