Fate of Autumn

The rusty harvest
moon casts long shadows into
a yawning chasm.

A farmer's brow-sweat
salts the earth around the crops
as the rains did not--

red dirt piled like gore
strewn about the proving grounds
granting little yield.

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Phaestian, in the year 770 AF.
