Oakstone's Darkenwood proposal

To those who named themselves Representatives of Oakstone,
This missive is to inform you that the Children of Twilight reject the
proposal brought forth by your Hierophant Kaisar and his companions. It
is our understanding that the agreement was not one agreed upon by the
Council of Hierophants as a whole and perhaps may be even beyond the
scope Oakstone to make. We understand that this proposal was put forth
by those who seek to twist the Council to their aims, and as such bear
no ill will against Oakstone as a whole.
The Darkenwood issue is a complex one to say the least. However, we will
not be bullied by the extremist actions of one guildmaster and his
cohorts. To be honest, this issue has been drawn out beyond any sort of
tolerable length in the eyes of many. I myself wish the problem would be
over and done with, as it is draining emotionally to deal with the
crippling stupidity of those who refuse to see the nature of the
Darkenwood and end this struggle. But such is the way of life. I will
give my life to protect the Wood from the machinations of those who wish
to harm it, as I have done in the past.
Now the official stuff is done, I will lay down a few points I believe
hold a bit of merit concerning this situation. This is mainly targeted
towards the fringe part of Oakstone which has decided that it would be
fun to have this personal vendetta against Darkenwood.
1. You said you would recognize that the Darkenwood is sacred ground.
Yet as part of the proposed agreement no one from Oakstone or from the
Order of Twilight could imprint groves or harvest. This to me makes no
sense. As children of Darkness, within us we each contain a bit of the
Fathers essence. The wood is full of His essence. Why should those of us
who are able not be allowed to commune with Father in one of the most
basic ways available to them? To me it is a slap in the face in an
attempt to get us to outright deny the "proposal."
2. Do try to be a bit more subtle about your little plans and whatnot.
Offering an agreement that you know will likely be rejected so you can
point the finger and say, "Oh those Darkies are so mean, they wouldnt
even take a reasonable offer.." or whatever it is you claim to try to
rally support is pretty thin in the manipulation department. I applaud
the effort but do urge you to try harder if you are going to proceed
down that avenue.
3. To Covenant in particular: Having talked to a couple of Hierophants
and found out that the totem amendment to the Charter is new, I am
presenting you with a bill for 40000 sovereigns. Those totems were
uprooted on your command I believe, not Oakstones. I was not even
informed they were breaking any Oakstone laws. I would have probably
removed those that were in violation of the law had I been notified.
Also, please note that not all the totems you had Ryvern uproot were in
forest locations, and thus do not fall under Oakstone law. The 40k sum
was reached by the calculation of the price of comms for 10 totems, as
well as a pittance for the labour that would go for implanting. Really
you should consider yourself lucky, as the market value of 10 implanted
totems is roughly 75,000 sovereigns.
4. Lastly, about the claim that Fathers essence is killing the wood.
Bravo, I admire the way the randomly come up with accusations in an
attempt to turn Oakstone against the Order. I assure you, the wood is
quite alive, it produces plants and does all the normal stuff a forest
does. It just exists as a different sort of aesthetic, I suppose it
takes someone with an open mind to appreciate the natural beauty there.
I warned those at the meeting what may happen were Fathers essence to be
cut off from the Wood. I will leave it them to relate it to you. I just
hope you understand the possible ramifications of your actions in both
regards.
I think I have said my piece and I believe I will leave it at that for
now. I am sure many will post and say many things concerning this. That
is fine, I make no promises that any posts in reply to this post will
receive replies of their own. I detest the clutter of the public board
for the most part and hate to clutter it further. I just wished to
explain why the "proposal" was rejected in a forum where many could read
and understand before jumping to conclusions. Which I am sure they will
still do anyway. Ah well.
