Just to correct you on a couple of points. First off, I wasn't enemied
to Shallam for talking or posting. That was for fighting in the war. You
remember that one don't you? And after I was jumped by Dresden while
chasing down a shrine defiler during the Alliance War (That would be
that war vs evil that you guys sat out on...must have been too busy
protecting the Mhun), I posted a nice little statement saying that
anyone who had a personal vendetta against me due to actions in the war
should challenge me rather than jump me. Only Querada took me up on the
offer. Though, from my understandings, someone has been spreading word
to the otherwise. I did this so that whoever had a problem could face
me, get it over with, and move on. That's past. Really should have took
me up on the offer considering how much you despise me. Yes, I've heard
all about you complaining that I "fell" into the regency position in
Hashan. Find someone else to be your poster child for your own failings
Qwilleran. I've worked damn hard at my job since I've been here and if
you think for one instant that I did next to nothing to earn this
position you are as clueless as you sound. Please try to do some
homework before you point at someone and whine that life hasn't been as
kind to you.
As for what I do or do not understand about this situation, again you
presume too much. If this matter was only about harvesting then I
wouldn't say a thing. Its Covenant's right as GM of the Sentinels to
decide whether or not the guild should enter into the same agreement as
the druids did. That part of it I don't have a problem with. Where the
problem comes in is this nonsense about Darkenwood dying. To say that
the Sentinels can bypass Oakstone and wage a war because they feel
Oakstone either does not feel something is wrong or is unwilling to
fight for the forest defeats the purpose of Oakstone. It would be like
Brandilar chucking Church Doctrine and deciding to march to his own
drum. Oakstone governs the health of the forest. That means
exterminations, fires, and overharvesting. If Darkenwood is as bad as
its being painted, why aren't the druids out seeking cures? Why isn't
the spirit of Darkenwood weakening? What exactly are these signs? If
they are so sure that these signs are there, why hasn't this info been
presented to Oakstone and Oakstone faced with this undeniable proof
acted? Have you talked to Heiros? I have. So please spare me the tired
"Kryvar doesn't know what he's talking about" line. You would think
after the nice trial you guys had that that would end. Or after
Darknight showed his true colors. You're right. What do I know? *shake*
Get a freaking grip.
The problems that Hashan face now are exactly what does the wormhole
treaty govern? Yes I know forests. But Darkenwood was created after the
treaty and its status as forest has been questioned before. Attempts to
mediate this has failed. And now Twilight shrines in Hashan have been
hit. So your damn right I'm angry. Hashan should have nothing to do with
this. I shouldn't have to say anything and you could go on your
blissfully ignorant way. But as a regent of Hashan its my responsibility
to look after the wellfare of the people who elected me to office. And
though it would be a sad day to have the regents vote for war because of
this, do not doubt for a moment that it could come to that. And for
what? Perhaps you have no problem with your leaders starting a war with
Ashtan over silly reasons, I know I would have a large problem with mine
doing the same. When you boil this down it comes down to who has the
right to declare a forest in trouble. If its not Oakstone, then what is
Oakstone there for? And if the proof is so undeniable, whats the harm in
Sentinels investigating? Ask questions. Assuming you know whats going on
hasn't worked so far. I understand your inability to grasp that someone
of Covenant's stature MIGHT be making a mistake. Your recent trackrecord
on the subject stinks (see above mentioned Darknight). But try for an
instant to actually research what you are talking about. Hmm?
