Public News Post #9879

Your Post

Greetings Fhyn, presumably you speak for the Aegians, so I have
addressed this to you

For your information, public post 9738 explains why this dispute
started, but in a nutshell, Sunrise had been enemying Maldaathi who had
committed no crimes (he apparently lied about Stee defiling in Ashtan,
as he wanted him city enemied, to name but one).

I destroyed a shrine of yours in protest at this, and my 'pittance' fine
was set at 200,000 gold.

I have no intention of paying this fine, I will simply continue to be a
thorn in your Order's excessivly fat side.

Am I drumming up sympathy for the Maldaathi? Indeed no, the Maldaathi
have long sought to avoid conflict, in fact, it was only through Sunrise
forcibly entering Mhaldor, and raising shrines to Aegis for the purpose
of worldburning that started all the anger in Mhaldor about your order.

But let me spell it out to you.

Your Order's antics are like some farcical theatre stageplay. You have
sought to impress the world, by crushing an organisation, whom you
assumed was weak, and ripe for the picking.

Yet, you seem to have lost your appetite for this conflict that you
started with Mhaldor, and thus have stooped to lying to your fellow
citizens about attacks on Ashtan, to rally support for your war.

Incidently, if your that hard pressed, I hear the Shallamese Guard hires
themselves out, perhaps a mercenary army could accomplish what the Order
of War cant?

Kaelin

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Ero, in the year 309 AF.
