Chaos and More Chaos

I must say I am well pleased to find that the seeds of Chaos have been
sown within the fertile soils of the mortal imagination and produced
such a rich and diverse crop of philosophies. But, as the wise Samerian
pointed out, I have already given the definitive definition of Chaos,
which amazingly encompasses all points of views presented. Is there any
realm of any other god or goddess that inspires mortals so? But Chaos is
as expansive as infinity so it is little wonder that mortals find
defining and compartmentalizing Chaos as difficult as grabbing a pumpkin
seed with your hands covered in oil--as soon as you think you've grasped
it, it slips through your fingers.
However, as I've said before, the history of Chaos (especially that
which happened before I even existed) and Chaos' larger role in the
multiverse has little bearing on the *individual* who follows Chaos.
Azzazzello gives an enlightening look at an *individual's* personal
experience on the path of Chaos. He has been given "no rules, truths to
live by, values to uphold", yet from the given "forms" (which I take to
mean broad philosophies and ways of looking at existence) Azzazzello
finds his own way in defining his SELF. That is precisely the path that
I've always tried to lead mortals, to find and define one's own personal
path, that path of the *individual*.
That is why followers of Chaos are never given direct orders, can always
refuse My requests, and never placed in a double-bind position where
loyalties (to city, guild, whatever) come in conflict with following
Chaos. That is why followers of Chaos have always come from seemingly
diverse paths--the quiet and meek side-by-side the dominant and
ambitious, the crazy and carefree with the stoic and orderly (yes, Chaos
produces many orderly types), the fickle with the decisive, the good
with the evil. There is one thread that binds these Druids and
Shadowsnakes and Occultists and Priests and Paladins and Warlocks and
Jesters together--the quest for individuality. They come to Me to set
themselves free.
