I made a habit of studying the archives of our land and my various
loyalties when I was younger. It will never cease to amaze me how many
times one side or the other has chosen to pick apart and even poke fun
at the tenents of their opposition. I have to wonder, though...
Is it because they truly believe that the opposition will listen and see
the "error" of their ways? I've noticed it generally makes people more
set in their beliefs. Opposition breeds zealots. (I'm quite sure that's
an old mhun saying.)
Possibly it's so they can receive the praise of their peers for so
thoroughly... well, for talking a lot, anyway. And maybe that's what it
boils down to- people simply love to hear the sound of their own voice.
Does anyone place any stock in, for example, an article written by an
occultic student, explaining the Holy Codex and the place of the Light
Church in Sapience? Is anyone out there thinking, "Hmm. That's a very
objective, enlightened, and unbiased viewpoint." or did you pick up the
article, like me, and inwardly groan? Not another one.
If I've got any questions regarding the Holy Codex, I think I'll read my
own copy of the book, and then seek out members of the Church- or even
Lord Pentharian Himself. I'm confident He'd be willing to explain the
points that some find so baffling.

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Phaestian, in the year 307 AF.
