Greetings Lady Lorielan,

Actually, this clan is a direct result of an interaction with Your
Order. A young apprentice of mine who shows remarkable promise in the
study of histories is the reason. I approached Your Order about him and
was informed that due to his involvement with Hashan...the dark and evil
city that it is... he would not be eligible for admission into Your
Order. As such, I have given him and anyone else who does not meet the
considerable standards You have set an option.

If in fact Your Order is open to all citizens from every corner of
Sapience, then I apologize in advance for my boldness. If however I was
informed correctly, I would hope that members of Your Order would show
an interest in this endeavor as their unique brand of knowledge seeking
may go to helping others in their quest for knowledge.

This clan is not an insult to You, Lady Lorielan. This clan is meant as
a way for those who seek knowledge, and who do not walk in the light as
prescribed by the Church, to have the outlet necessary to do so. I have
left the Divine out to let mortals decide for themselves which path to
take. So yes, that would mean that You would not be involved in its
creation. It also means Lord Twilight is not, Lord Sartan is not, Lady
Eris is not, Lord Lupus, and my Mistress Valnurana is not. I do not seek
Your blessing or curse from this. I simply hope that You view it much as
I view the essense of knowledge. It is not good, it is not evil, it is
not even neutral...it simply is.
