Greetings
Ok, just a quick post about Honour, since it is my favorite subject.
Please ignore my title, (I'm not claiming superior knowledge about the
matter)
I just haven't had a chance to change it since I don't belong to any
institution
at the moment.
Anyway, I would like to argue Sir Kui Tepes and partly Sir Zeros
posts about the nature of true honour. I'm not saying that they are
wrong, nor is there anything personal, I'm just expressing my views
about true honour.
Both of you claim, that the part of chivalry and mostly teaming and
jumping has nothing to do with true Honour. Both of you define true
honour differently, is it loyalty or then Truth, keeping ones word etc.
(I'm sorry if I misunderstood your posts).
And yes, these are all aspects of Honour, but true Honour is something
much bigger and chivalry is a big part of it, at least when you talk
about Knights honour.
Yes you can be honourable in a way, while not following the code of
chivalry,
for example, if I'm not wrong, Kharon encourage teaming as a sign of
honour
to the opponent. This does not mean that all Kharon are dishonourable,
nay they just have their own code of honour.
But when it comes to Knights honour, I don't see how you can separate
chivalry from it. The common mistakes made about jumping and teaming is,
by taking them as a set of rules you must follow. But this is not
chivalry,
chivalry is something else and more complex, it involves behavior in the
battle
and behavior in common life. And still you can't define chivalry in
battle
through not jumping and not teaming. Nay, chivalry in battle is about
the fairness of the fight, giving the opponent (some cases opponents)
a fair chance to fight back. And as it stands, jumping and teaming gives
you
a way too big advantages. But this does not end with jumping or teaming,
they are just more known.
Some examples, I don't know how a knight can call himself honourable
when he for example backstabs a sleeping person, or a more common
example,
jumps someone while he/she is bashing and delivers the one fatal dsl and
then
boasts about his strength. I won't talk about teaming, cause we all know
how
honourable and fair teaming is.
And about counting to 10 while someone is venom locking you is really a
dumbass thing to do, I hope you get my point :).
