Basilican business

My esteemed Sister,

I believe you misunderstand Our Brother's public request. Its message
was of the futility of posting opinions to this board, if the intent of
those people is to change something. As He said, popular opinion does
not run the Basilica. It is the prelacy that is responsible for that. As
such, any concerns with the validity of the decision should be directed
to them. Otherwise, posting your thoughts on this board will accomplish
nothing except preserving your opinion for later years. We will not be
overtly explaining ourselves here, so the possibility for debate is
slim. We merely had the courtesy to inform those others who wish to
speak where to send their words, rather than wasting the gold.

You concentrate on the last line, about our business, and use this as a
lead for 'dirty laundry' and 'censorship'. That particular quote was
more directed towards the one person who felt it wise to post direct
words of our church board to this medium. This is our business, though,
yes; it was a decision made within the organization, mandating the
conduct therein. This generally should not be an issue to those outside
of said organization. You mention that it affects those with romantic
entanglements inside the church. Being that the other half the
relationship is in the church, they would know of this situation, and
thus pass it on accordingly. If the issue had stayed within the
Basilica, those who needed to know would still have been aware of the
situation.

Further, this is not dirty laundry. A decision was made and we will
stand by it. It was not something done on a whim, arguments were
presented, and I know that none of the prelacy would make a decision of
which they were not proud to attach their names, despite one such
allusion to the contrary.

On a last note, though I do not wish to speak of My theology on this
medium, it is not true that I am in favor of the wanton spread of
knowledge, which you seemed to indicate.
