chaos and goodness

Dear Eris,
I cannot tell you the reasons for the Church to oppose Chaos, as I have
only recently joined the Church. I have, however, been Elysian for over
half of my life. I can explain why the Elysian order stands in
opposition to Chaos.
Chaos is, without doubt, everything You say of it, yet those that stand
in the Light oppose it? Why is that? Your post, while explaining Chaos
particularly well, does not explain why the Light opposes Chaos.
To understand why, you must understand Righteousness, and why the cause
of "good" exists. "Good" people are born when there is oppression in the
world. People that just want to live a quiet life are downtrodden
until....enough is enough. They give up their attempts at quiet lives
and devote themselves to fighting the oppression, that others like them
may live the lives they were denied.
Sometimes the life of Chaos will include "good" actions. But Chaos
involves all walks of life, evil as well as good - and one right does
not cancel out a wrong. It is to be opposed by Good, because if we did
not, we could not call ourselves "Good" people. "Good" is about opposing
evil where ever it lies, however sporadically it appears.
Righteousness appears to be a lost cause, a cause that can never win.
But we win every time we reduce the amount of evil in the world even by
a tiny bit.
