It was brought rather immediately to my attention recently that someone
known as Caleb has irrected a totem in the area generally known as the
pit on the new island in the far west. In your public post you say that
the sort of totem plantations which will be allowed are things like
constructing defenses on ground holy to various religions, defending
guild and city halls against attack, etc. You also say that the sort of
totem instalations which will not be allowed are things like lining the
prelatorian highway with totems tuned against Ashtan citizens.
Now, the Pit is of course Holy Ground to the followers of Sartan. I'm
not going to try to convince you that we go there to bake cookies or
anything, but still, setting up an aggressive totem which attacks those
of us who go there to worship as it is holy ground isn't that different
from attacking citizens who are trying to get to their city. We Sartai
have no city anymore and it seems like no place is safe for us, but I
hope that you at least will remain true to your word and talk to this
Caleb and have that totem taken down.
If you think it over, this isn't really different then if a totem tuned
to attack church members had been placed in the ruins of the Basilica. I
doubt that would have flown and I hope that you will not be hypocritical
about such things as the Shallamites usually are.
